CPR: COLLARDS, PEAS, AND RESOLUTIONS

Collards, peas, and resolutions are an American tradition that seems to endure. The collards greens represent cash and the peas represent change (as in coins).  The eating of the collard greens and peas is supposed to be lucky and those who eat it are supposed to be blessed with money all year.

People around the  world observe traditions that have been passed down for generations and the traditions are sometimes the only glue that keeps families together. Think about the traditions you observe in your family… dinners, celebrations, and regularly timed gatherings to come together for a common purpose.

As we approach 2018, many people are also making a list of resolutions to accomplish in the new year.  Studies show that most of the resolutions don’t even make it past the 30 day mark, simply because it’s hard to break bad habits and start new habits that endure. Some resolutions are just simply unattainable (losing 100 pounds in a month, for instance) for those who make resolutions, do your best to attain your resolutions in stages.  Doing something one step at a time is easier than making a BIG LEAP.

In closing, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you take time to enjoy the precious moments with your family and loved ones, and most of all.  Love the you that you see in the mirror every day!
